WHY WOULD YOU BUY THIS MUSIC??

You may be asking yourself, why should I buy this music? Well, we certainly are living in musically exciting times. Independent artists have so many avenues to get their music heard with the invention of the internet, and yet with all those options out there, it can be truly dizzying. So, let me tell you what the intention behind creating the cd was, and you can judge for yourself if it speaks to your heart. Not too long ago, while going through a divorce, I had a spiritual "awakening". I won' t go into all the details, but let me just say that if you've ever heard of the "dark night of the soul", that would certainly qualify as one of them. This event led me to people, books, lectures, seminars, workshops, musical experimentation and so on. This cd is not written primarily about romantic love. At this time in my life, I realized there was something far more important, far deeper and more fulfilling than that. The love of life and the love of spirit. (Well, one of the songs is more about getting "screwed" in love but honestly, no cd is complete without that.) There is also a song "Footsteps On The Floor" that was inspired by my grandfather insisting that my grandmother was still living in the house after being dead for quite some time. After all, romantic love is a part of spirituality, but my quest was for that deeper love. The love of self. The love for that little old lady who lives next door. The love (defined as tolerance) of the neighbor who mows his lawn at 7am on Saturdays or the one who wants to kill the groundhog who lives under your garage. The love of spirit and of this planet. The love that feeds our soul. When you listen to the very last track, "Do You Know", imagine it is spirit speaking directly do you. You can say God, the divine, spirit, source energy, the universe... whatever floats your boat, it truly makes no difference. But that song is written directly to you from spirit. This is the intention of this cd. To uplift. To inspire. To make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. That's it. If you want to support it, buy it. If not, find someone else's music to feed your soul. But that's the important part. Ask yourself, "does this feed my soul?" If so, the benefit will be enormous. With joy, Barbara Stephan
